Tools

Early hominids used tools for survival. Hominids used tools for hunting and creating fires. These clever hominids survived through these difficult times of the Stone Age.

Tools are man-made objects used to meet the needs of a living being. From bows and arrows, to spears and knifes. These tools were used to hunt, but some tools could be used for other basic needs too. Other tools were needles and arrowheads. These are what some of the other tools were.

Tools were objects used to help hominids live and prosper. A bow and arrow was used to kill from a distance. The later Middle Stone Age Homo sapiens used a variety of tools for survival. Flint was a tool used to make fire and burins made clothes. Most tools were used to hunt and gather. Fishing hooks were made from bones, antlers, tusks, and sharpened stone and used for fishing. These are the tools hominids used.

Tools became advanced to meet the needs of the later Homo sapiens. Even though these tools were designed by hominids, the later Homo sapiens could use the tools for survival also. Replaceable flint blades were an important advance because people did not have to make entirely new tools when a blade was dulled. The bi-faced thrusting spear was advanced because with the addition of a stone-paint. The bow and arrow were advanced because they could kill for food to survive with. Burins are advanced because they design clothing to keep the human body at a satisfying temperature. These are the reasons why tools are advanced.
