He is a guy who can't control whether or not he has his powers but decides to do good anyway. It is sad that he has such a lonely life. He makes sure that everyone else is safe.
He is lonely and sad yet everyone else is safe because of his efforts to protect them. He doesn't know where he came from or why he has the powers that he does. All he knows is that he is some sort of alien to the planet earth but has been sent to protect it.
He could just as easily be a bad guy. Luckily he decided that he wanted to be a kind protective person than an evil guy. I'm sure if he turned evil he would kill everyone who he came in contact with. That would be a bad thing.
