It has just been announced that Senator Chris Dodd has been diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer. Chris Dodd has commented that he won’t resign, but will seek treatment. Dodd is the senior Senator from Connecticut, and a staunch Democrat, and one of the longest serving members in the U.S. Senate. Dodd’s reputation was tarnished when he had a part in a mortgage scandal, wherein he had appeared to have gotten below market rates on two mortgages, seemingly in exchange for suggesting legislation that would directly benefit Countrywide, the mortgage company, and his lender. Still, regardless on whether he got saved short term loans with inappropriate mortgage terms, let’s wish Chris Dodd a speedy recovery.
